Ghayda was one of the most remarkable people you could ever have the privilege of knowing. She was warm, kind, funny, and full of a light that drew everyone around her in. A beloved friend, sister, and daughter — and one of the strongest, most courageous people any of us had ever met.

She faced her illness with a grace and dignity that continued to inspire everyone who knew her. She is gone far too soon, and she is missed beyond measure. This garden exists so that her memory can live on, tended by the people who loved her.

My name is Hassan, I'm a friend of Ghayda's. I built this garden while she was still with us — to help raise the funds she needed and to give the people who loved her a place to show it. She knew this garden existed, and she knew how many people were rooting for her.

Now that she's gone, I've kept it open as a place of remembrance. Somewhere her friends, family, and the many people she touched can come to plant a flower, leave a message, and let her know she is not forgotten.

Billa is Ghayda's cat. She loved him dearly, so he wanders around her garden and watches over everyone's flowers. Kiki is her niece's kitten, keeping Billa company. And now Ghayda herself walks amongst them.
